Mooring Fees Paid

Google is your friend and a little history of one on the Deben here. Another here

Whilst you do see some mobos on swing moorings mid-river most are yachts and you won’t see many boats of the type you are thinking of on them. There is a reason for that - having a walk ashore serviced pontoon mooring is a world of difference from a dinghy ride out to your boat with no services and a power hungry mobo likes to have shore power.

Not saying it isn’t doable and it is obviously worth considering if you are working to a budget but having kept our day sailer on a swing mooring I wouldn’t want to keep the Hardy on one. Absolutely lovely for a night or two but not permanently. Each to their own of course.😁
.

Thanks @Greg2, I agree, it's not what I'm looking for but @Bigplumbs seemed to have some wisdom to share and I was interested to learn  .

We had our Sealine 195 on a swinging mooring at Walderingfield on the Deben, beautiful location and we have some fond memories but I do remember either setting off in the mud or returning in the mud. Also very heavy fouling in the river and nowhere to give it a good hose down.
We ended up at Suffolk Yacht Harbour.

Waldringfield is lovely as is the rest of the Deben 😁

£640 at my club for 27ft, that's slightly over 1/3 that of a commercial mooring a few hundred yards away.

£400-ish service charge for an 11m pontoon mooring in a Solent Marina.

The fact it's attached to the house keeps the annual cost down ;)

Use Google and just search Fairways committees or fairways moorings
“A committee is a group of men who individually can do nothing but as a group can decide that nothing can be done” — or — “A Committee is a group of the unfit, appointed by the unwilling to do the unnecessary.”

Nah, you can keep your committee. :):):)

I haven't got one to either keep or give away :)
