Mooring along south coast

You can get an online quote from Premier Marinas here: http://www.premiermarinas.com/pages/12_month_berthing_quote

If nobody is forthcoming, you'll have to phone MDL for a quote.

Some smaller boatyards, such as Wicor Marine and Quay Lane Boatyard, publish their charges on line: http://www.wicormarine.co.uk/charges.php and http://www.quaylaneboatyard.co.uk/fees_and_charges.htm

You can also obtain details for some IOW harbours online, such as Yarmouth: http://www.yarmouth-harbour.co.uk/media/uploads/harbour-dues-and-charges-2014.pdf

There's plenty of information online if you don't want to start phoning around just yet.

Ah.................but to actually get to know what the cost will be, you have to give them lots of "personal" data.

I asked them earlier this year why they simply don't put their prices on their website - just like D&R and Premier do. Their response............"we know what is best for you and we can only give you a price once we know more about you". What rubbish!

I did eventually fill in their form and they gave me a price - it was not a good price. I then visited them in person........and got a different, higher, price. Go figure.............

Had a similar experience with MDL. I did give them the feedback that being so reluctant to publish pricing makes me really concerned about what else/extras is being hidden. Let's be honest, if they were the cheapest, they would be publishing their pricing structure for everyone to see!

Used up my three free quotes in Feb 2012 so until they change their policy of secrecy I can't see us being MDL berthholders...............

Well there is plenty of space at Mercury - I wonder why. Incidentally Foulkes is full to bursting, The Cabin seems fairly busy, and I expect Eastlands are doing ok. The Hamble A27 road bridge isn't that big a deal. I can get my Turbo 36 under on top of a 4.4m tide. That means I have to avoid passing under near high water literally a few times in a season, and there are plenty of reference markers both in and outbound.
