Moody 33 mk1, I have just now removed my 4 pulpit bases, very challenging. The bolts I had to drill are still in the base and wont move. I would like to know if anyone knows where I can find replacement bases that would fit my Moody. They have 2 bolts to the toe rail and 1 down through the toe rail.

There info on this on the MOA website. TCS chandlery 01702444444 have the triangular ones with three fixings that take 25mm stanchions in both SS and alloy.

Not on their website but in their catalogue.

Second the advice re the Moody website, www.moodyowners.org.uk. The forum therein has tons of stuff about maintaining Moodys, and the website also has a vast technical libray but you need to be a member to access it. Well worth the subscription IMHO.

Just to be helpful, a photo of the catalogue items:

sorry about the orientation!
Cat no. for alloy one is 14-1130

I don't know what type of base you have on your boat but it sounds as though they match the toe rail section. My bases (Model YS47/20)

have two bolts into the toerail and one through the deck. You can get these from Seaware who also have other bases listed which presumably have different profiles to match different toerails (but I can't find any pictures). Maybe one of those will be the same as yours?

I've just done all mine on my Moody 33mk2. The stanchion picture by dipper is the correct one. Most chandleries can get them for you plus new stanchions. Make sure the stanchions are correct as there are two very similar. When you replace the bases, coat the stainless screws with Duralac which should prevent corrosion in the future, and you must replace the bolt thro' the deck to make it strong enough. You'll have to dismantle interior furniture or cut access holes in the lining. put mastic between the base and deck and a penny washer under the deck internally.
I took on average 2 to 3 hours for each base to remove and replace them. Send me a PM if you need more info. Good Luck!
