Hi

Does anyone know where I can find the Hull number and HIN number on this model?

The Moody Owners website needs these to join. You can't even ask on their information exchange unless you are a member. Catch 22 ??

Thanks

Ian

I'm a member, not sure why they ask, I guess it's in the interest of keeping a register of the yachts. I presume the HIN is not on the transom anywhere? You also mention 'Hull number', but it's the 'Yard' number that is needed, and every Moody I've been on has it stamped on the main switch panel.
I don't see why they are essential either, I'll chase it too.

Mind has it on the switch board but it's just the yard number the full HIN number is on the transit and thi said boat in the forward head under the door , all my other Moody I had it been on the transit and on one under the rubbing stake

It's on the port side of the transom of my Moody 31 Mk II, near the top. I happen to have noticed it, though I've never even looked to see what it is! However, as the transom is the major difference between the Mk I and the Mk II, it may not be there on the Mk I.

And yours is a later 31, not the 33 that the OP is asking about.

There will be no HIN on a 33 as it dates from before such things were heard of. Almost certainly identified by a yard or sail number neither of which are necessarily permanently marked anywhere. Whatever marking or number you do find has no practical meaning anyway.

It becomes important if you wish to code a boat.

Ive got a number badly stamped on the switch panel of my 33 of that era, but the boat number is neatly painted under every locker lid. Them were the days.

Ian, to draw this to a close it would appear the Association doesn't need this information to join and entering TBC in the fields will suffice to join.

Regards Pete

You only need something that identifies the boat. Does not have to be HIN number, particularly a boat built before HIN numbers came in.
