Modern caulking compounds

I am re-caulking my Falmouth Pilot and have searched the site for nuggets of useful advice about this process. However I have not seen a mention of using Davis Slick Seam caulking compound. I used some last year to fill in a few cracks in the old caulking. It was easy to use and seemed reduce the amount of water getting in on launch.

At this point in time I would go for the tried and tested approach - red lead putty etc and don't lick you fingers!. However, if anyone has used this for serious work, please let me know.

As long as you only use the 'Slick Seam' as a putty replacement, and not a replacement for the caulking cotton, I don't see a problem. I always used putty, myself.
