Mobella Companionway Lock

Hi, has anyone had to replace a Mobella companionway lock or know if it is possible to strip it down, the key has broken in our lock and left part of the key behind the lock pins and I cannot get it out. Fortunately it is in the open position so I can get in the boat but the downside is that the boat is now unlocked.

If you can find your lock type on the Onmar website - http://www.onmar.se/en/door-locks/entry - and go to the product page, you'll find a link to the installation drawings, which may help you a bit. It will also show you where the key number is, so you can order a new key.

Cheers PVB, I have tried their website and other than product info I cannot find and drawings of the inside of the lock, it will probably be a new lock.

If you can uninstall the lock, a reputable locksmith will be able to sort it out for you. If unable to get it out, make up a dummy washboard from ply and bring the whole thing.
Get an estimate! I had a seized lock and was told, on collection that the cost of the work was way more than the cost of a new lock. Fortunately I have done enough business with the guy that he let me off with paying just a fiver. It helped that he is also a sailor
