When coming into a tight marina berth it is necessary to slalom in sideways with the least experienced person ready to leap ashore with a tangled rope.

The skipper should then leap away from the wheel, whilst forgetting to stop the boat, and politely shout, "NO, not like THAT!"

The crew member should reply jovially that they're never getting on a boat again, ever.

Repeat this every weekend for 10 years.

I had been planning to buy a high power 'soaker' water pistol, then lying low until you and Stuge go by. However, since reading a recent post about PWC I have decided to go for a paint ball gun instead ! Luminous green OK by you? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Unlucky! it's a fantasy of mine to go up there 007-Style at 34kts, but rest assured, the reality is 1000rpm and insufficient wash to tip a bath duck.

Preferably red, to match Mrs jhr's eyes.

The Solent provides the best sailing waters in Britain. The area is always very quiet, you will seldom see a powerboat or a fleet of charter yachts, and there are plenty of spaces for visits in peaceful harbours where the fees are very reasonable.
At all costs avoid the East Coast where the reverse is true.

Come to the lovely East Coast where you'll find the sea is cool and blue the weather is warm and sunny, harbours that welcome you at any time, and navigation made easy by all the natural features, many of which are visible for yards out to sea.
