The weather at South Stoke has ranged from glorious to just wonderful for the past few weeks. Then Windsor Yacht Club rally up this neck of the river and bring clouds of despair with them.

Not like when I were a lad, when school summer holidays meant cracked earth and sun burn blisters.
We were planning on taking a two week cruise as soon as the schools break up, as for the past two years we've done the end of the school holidays and had plenty of rain. Our holiday is now on hold for a week

Went to the RAF Memorial Day at Folkestone on Sunday.Fly past cancelled due to low cloud and wind ......Course about an hour later when we got home everything cleared up nicely.
Should have seen a brace of Spitfires / Hurricanes and a Tornado......Well miffed.
Impressive to see all the top RAF brass on parade with all the scrambled egg and medals on display.Only about 6 veterans of the B of B now left to attend.
Did get to natter with a couple of very delightful old ladies whos husbands flew during that period.
The new display building is now open.Recommend a visit by anybody in the area.
You could just make out the coast of France in the distance through the murk,not day fro crossing the channel in a small boat either.
