Mirage 2700 rudder bushes (top hats)

I'm replacing the rudder bushes on my Mirage 2700. Two questions...

1) The old ones are made out of a very hard plastic - would that be PTFE?

2) Does anyone know where I can buy them in small numbers? I can only find them sold in the hundreds.

How many do you need?

Do you have a sketch / dimensions as I could make you some?

They are unlikely to be a standard size. Need to be made with the correct clearance tolerance for your shaft. best to take up the offer and know they are made for your application.

Thanks, when I get back to the boat I'll need to measure one that I haven't mutilated during removal! And then take second measurements to make sure.

I'd give these guys a shout. The catalogue is application rather than material specific but I suspect they will have an acetal range in there somewhere.

Only last week I took my rudder pintles to the engineers to have proper bronze bushes and new stainless pins fitted, as the nylon (or what ever they are!) were totally knackered!
Typical, eh?!!!

My rudder bearings are made from Vesconite which is a harder plastic

Vesconite will supply samples of various sizes that can be machined to whatever size you need
