They are all in the marina on the Pacific side now. Start is tomorrow.....but they might not all be ready. Or something.
Next stop, Nukku Hiva. Been there got rained on a lot and got outside masses of Heineken. There is little else to do. Oh and eat super tasty stodge at the dockside food shack. They have to stay 8 days but can cruise around a bit. They would be better going for walks.

Bit of a messy start.....not unusual for Disorganised Don! However that all makes it part of the charm of this endeavour....in my opinion.

Looking at his youtube channel, mebbe most will be off in the next 2 days. Scrappy though and not much wind. Its a loooong way!

Watching the videos now. Does seem like the six will be heading off Thursday.
The whole Panama bit does seem really chaotic. But then I've been following the 5.80 since the 1st transat and it is always like this.
I wish them all luck.

Trouble is, once you are well behind the peloton it is more dangerous, as historically race boats have often tended to help rescue fellow skippers in distress in remote parts of the ocean where shipping lanes don’t pass.

Looks like the Blenkinsop father and son are delaying for a bit. The father has withdrawn from the race and wants to cruise towards Australia. His son will keep him company.
Doldrums for the rest. I reckon the ones heading more southerly have picked the best option to get into the trades first.

The northern group seems to be going twice as fast as the southern one but whether the difference is enough to get to the trades before Renaud I have no idea.
Starting to think the Blenkinsops may end up shipping their boats home, don't think Mike/Popeye's heart is in it at all.
