Mingming III

Very interesting. I guess we all need to have our peculiar passions. Certainly creating a beautiful boat out of wood can be very satisfying. Not for every one however. I hope bikedaft gets great pleasure out of the build and rowing the boat.
Just an impression however is that this hull design seems to be optimised for rowing. It would not seem to have much form stability for use with sails. ie narrow and too close to round bottomed shape which does not resist heel compared to flat bottomed hard chines and broader beam. Sorry I can't resist suggesting forget the sails or at least just set up for down wind sailing. Something easy to raise from cockpit. ol'will

Mingming is Roger Taylor's (new) boat! I wish... (I do have a similarly shaped and styled double ended Norwegian style rowing dinghy, about 15' - she sails well, although rounds up without a rudder (i use an oar))
