I've just acquired a Micrologic Sportsman hand held GPS with my latest boat. The GPS seems rather antiquated but is in working order, but there are no instructions . Can anyone suggest where I may be able to get a handbook.
Thanks Rogera

Rogera,
You probaly know that Micrologic was sold to ICOM... I have their " Navigator-Marina" still in great shape and working well. They were a good unit and very popular world wide, but alas they are gone.
So try Icom and see how you go...good luck

Your set is highly unlikely to have survived the September rollback, prior to the millenium.
Swale Marine/ Electronics?? were providing a re-chipping service for the Micrologic Sportsman but for me the price made a 5? channel set non-viable compared with the cost of a new 12 channel set. Sadly my Sportsman went into the bin.

Hi I would agree with Maxi. I had one of these years ago and twice the chip packed up. 1st time I took it over to Micrologic at Camberly (local for me) and they fixed it, however the next time they had gone bust...

It was by modern standards pretty primative , no rolling rd etc I think it had a pair of goal post like dots at the top of the screen and you aimed at these.

Sorry to sound negative!

Sorry to add to the 'problem' side of things, but if your unit is working be glad. Two friends of mine bought these a few years ago, and I'm sorry to say, had nothing but problems with them.

One of them sent the thing back a couple or more times, but both ditched them and bought a different make in the end. Even amongst relatively cheap and cheerful products of the time they were not reliable.

If you are going far, I'd be inclined to get a (perhaps handheld) back-up GPS.
