Hi
The micro c socket has come off the circuit board inside my Quark A024 AIS receiver. Bit frustrating as it worked fine.
Can anyone recommend someone who can solder a new one to the board ?
Thanks

You could try one of the mobile phone repair shops. Some of those do board repairs to sckets etc. I've had most success with things like this at the shops operated by Asians (not sure of actual nationality). They seem to have the patience and skills to do this sort of thing. The biggy shops usually say no or say they have to send away.

Interesting that, I have just had a similar thing with the micro usb charging point on a Bluetooth speaker. I gave up in the end and with a bit of judicious redesign I put in a "C" type socket off board. However, that doesn't help you  As suggested contact Quark possibly best with a new PCB:cry:

Probably the best option. Quite a cheap unit to buy so had thought sending to quark might be too costly, worth a punt though.

As you say worth a punt. A phone call won't break the bank  In my case I found that the USB had lifted the minute bits of track on the board when it came off, so couldn't be resoldered anyway.
