I have been a raggie sailor for fifty six years. SWMBO has suggested that we change to a MoBo. What do you think ?

The best thing I ever did, for family sake, was to sell a sailing yacht and buy a motor cruiser. I still sail a dinghy and will shortly be buying a small sailing yacht in the med - but- so far as keeping SWMBO happy with messing about in boats the switch to power saved the day ! That was nineteen years ago and she still loves the boat, as do my, now grown up, kids and grandchildren.

Both aspects of sailing have their assets and drawbacks. It really is a question of which one enjoys most. Possibly the easiest way for you to judge is to go out a few times with a Stinkie.

You have to change your whole concept. Sailing is much more about the eerr sailing. Mobo's are much more like a car. Yes it can still be fun driving along, but it's much more about where your going and what to do when you get there. Navigation is also completely different at 20 knots. More like a flight plan.
