Mercruiser Anodes

I was going to get a set of anodes for my Mercruiser Alfa 1 gen 2 (I know what it is now ) leg and was surprised to see that they recommend Aluminium/Indium alloy for salt use and not Zinc. This surprised me. Any views from people here ?

Simon, magnesium only for you in freshwater. A bit more expensive than the alu, but much cheaper than a remplacement leg. Don't skimp on these. They should last 2 years in freshwater.

Aluminium is correct. The alloy they use is (supposedly) less noble than zinc and so will protect your leg more than the zinc would.
