Heating Carbon Tet creates mustard gas the was used in WW1.

If you smoked while using Carbon tet the fag would heat the fumes and you would breath in Mustard Gas.

Very nasty stuff

Correction needed, The reaction of carbon tet in a fire does not create mustard gas. It creates Phosgene which was also used as a poison gas in WW1, Just as bad though.

Well dont pour it down the drain for starters! Over the years i have noticed suppliers tend to give you far more catalyst than you will ever need. I doubt they would take it back for disposal. I have disposed of surplus by pouring onto the ground at our bonfire site, not a good idea to chuck it onto a lighted bonfire though.
I suspect it would be very expensive to pay for licenced disposal.

As William points out I think there is confusion between MEKP (methyl ethyl ketone peroxide) and MEK (methyl ethyl ketone, aka butanone)

MEK is a common and useful solvent similar in many of its properties to acetone (aka propanone)

MEK is a common product used for bonding Model Plastic parts ... such as the old Airfix kits etc.

Serious modellers will use a fine tip brush to paint the joints ... instead of the globs of Britfix most of us used !

MEKP is of course not the same !!
