Media's attitude to sailing

Channel 4 have been covering Serefe, probably the smallest entry in the ARC, from before she left UK. Lots of filming on the Yacht Club balcony, followed by someone on board all the way. Looking forward to seeing what sort of a programme they make.
However, I would have thought that 'anything' would make better viewing than darts!

I wonder what the media coverage of Sailing is like in New Zealand..

It's roughly the same size as Great Britain, boat ownership is something like 1 in 6 households (possibly even more than that..)
Obviously Rugby is HUGE there, I just wondered how their media covers it..

Maybe we should take some pointers from them.. but, as a prospective migrant to NZ I am beginning to think that New Zealand is like the way the majority of people wish this country was..

just an observation..
