Med boaters - will you get to your boat this year?

Just seen this in the “Independent” for those thinking the 90 day rule may be ignored. Deportation, as in the US, could mean refused entry into the EU in the future.

A sunny life in Spain has been turned on its head for many British nationals, who must return to the UK due to new post-Brexit regulations.

Those who do not want to apply for Spanish resident status must return home to Britain, as EU freedom of movement laws no longer apply.

If a Brit wishes to forego legal registration, or is rejected, they must leave Spain by 31 March or they will be deemed an illegal immigrant, with the potential risk of deportation.

Spanish police reportedly expect to begin deportation action for up to 500 British citizens within the first week.

Can't they simply get a long stay Visitor Visa like it would seem that you can for France?

It would seem we have a double wammy in place.

Due to the current situation regarding the spread of the coronavirus, France has decided to suspend the issuance of visas until further notice. All visa types are affected: short staySchengen visas, long stay visas to France, visas to overseas territories.

UK most definitely should flag waive, anyone suggesting otherwise is in denial IMHO. Lets give it a month or two, and then compare UK deaths per 100,000 population with say France and Germany... Only time will tell.

Not that I would want ANY other country to do worse than the UK, I would be very happy to waive their flags if they do better. The way the EU has acted is almost criminal IMO.

Agree only time will tell but at the moment the UK is well in the lead in the Champions League Covid deaths table so maybe a bit of humility is more appropriate than jingoism

And btw it's wave not waive

Humility 'the quality of having a modest or low view of one's importance' oh dear, it did not refer to my importance but that of the UK;s performance which is/was excellent. So your comment is utter nonsense , but thanks for the spell check...!

Yes, agreed, I'll not respond any further on this matter on this thread, lets get on with what we really like - boats can't wait to get out to SC....:)

Likewise this is my last post on this matter but this is my definition of humility

This is not a gloat because the logic is tragic. Nonetheless, Britain is now experiencing below average death rates. Almost the whole world is going the opposite trend

To more a palatable subject. After spending three nights and four days in paradise we crossed the pancake flat sea in search of chips
