Another update. Having spent the last hour or so trying to complete the Spanish health form and it not accepting our address, you need to put in your zip code at the end of the form before trying to fill out the details above it!! Only found out by trial and error. Why they don’t put the zip code first is anyone’s guess. I’ve never come across any other form where you start at the bottom and work backwards.
When I was young , I went for an interview , had to fill out the form it said at the top , read all questions before filling in q1name and address 2 stupid q ,etc q20 just fill in q1. I did not get the job.

Just got back from 9 days in SoF which actually was very relaxing because of the lack of tourists. I'm hoping now that this Covid testing/quarantine nonsense goes on for a few weeks longer. I dont want the Med cluttered up with the great British unwashed when we go again in August

Regarding the testing/quarantine nonsense, that was a bit of a mixed bag. On the positive side, nobody bothered checking our test/vaccine certs and stupid French forms on arrival at Nice airport. Just a stamp on the passport and bonjour. Again on the positive side I applied for quarantine exemption (for a perfectly legal reason) on returning to Heathrow. Yes you have to queue a bit longer to be interviewed by a passport officer but the interview consisted of one question about where I'd flown in from and then I was on my way

The negative side was checking in baggage at both Heathrow and Nice airports which took forever because the check in staff were asking to see your test certs/passenger locator forms and then laboriously entering the details into their computer systems

My advice would be to fly with hand luggage only to avoid the baggage check in queues but ensure you print out all your necessary documentation because for hand luggage only passengers they are checking your documentation at the gate and the staff do find it easier to handle printed documents rather than having to look at a phone screen. And with regard to quarantine exemption on return to the UK, you are on a shot to nothing applying for that on your locator form. The likelihood is that nobody will question it and even if they do and it is denied, you are no worse off than had you not applied for it

Quick question, I know there were restrictions on sailing from mainland to ibiza etc. Covid test required before stepping on land but I can't seem to find any info online to suggest this is still the case. We may take the boat over for a few days end of this month if the restriction has been lifted.

As far as I can tell the restrictions still exist-you can go but you have to complete a form and either a) prove you are fully vaccinated or b) show proof of a negative test within 48-72 hours of arrival in the Balearics, or c) stay in quarantine on your boat.
Medidas sanitarias específicas para los pasajeros y tripulación de las embarcaciones procedentes del territorio español
Am assuming this will all only be checked if you are booking into a marina-if anchoring I can’t see how they will check (unless the Guardia Civil are going around each bot at anchor)?

Got back from Mallorca yesterday. Did my medicspot test on the boat. Then filled in the locator form. Not the most obvious how to enter Balearics in the form.

back in Heathrow and the queue was about 40 min for passport control. Nearly everyone was going through the e-gates. Talking of which I don’t know why terminal 5 has so few of them.

All in all not too bad. One of the best bits in Mallorca was I could order drinks at a bar! Seems like years before I could last do that!

Might just need it’s electrical connections cleaning or a light tap on the compressor .
Unplug your shore power to prevent a mix up re 24 / 12 v and 220:v while fiddling with it .Let it think you are @ anchor .
Twiddle its switch / control .
Don’t hang your hat on the door light as a blown bulb it will be off but the fridge compressor still run if it’s ok .

it is appreciated you taking the time to try and remotely diagnose the issue. I can hear the motor humming. But a ‘light tap’ on the compressor could well have sorted it. Not convinced the thermostat is doing anything as I cannot hear it click.

Unfortunately I read this after I got back. ?

Interested to hear your experience of Medicspot and I assume the 'take with you Lateral Flow test' for your return to the UK. I used Qured when I returned from Spain a few weeks ago and it was a bit of a faff as you had to do the actual test via a video call....no problem in a marina and with good reliable internet.....but if out on an anchorage with patchy 3G/4G it could be an issue. So, my question is, for the Medicspot test did you have to do a video call or did they simply 'trust' you to do your test yourself within 72 hours of your return flight and then you had to (I assume) email a photo of your negative test plus your passport? When I checked the Medicspot website I could not quite get clear if the video call was required, or not (and their chatbots are rubbish!)? Appreciate any feedback on them please and how your overall experience with them was. Cheers

Medicspot does not require a video. You need to register then do the test and then send a photograph of the test plus ID (passport that you use for locator and register with) and send it to them. Result usually comes back within an hour. So you do need internet or 4G connection but not video quality. I have used Medicspot now three times and it is efficient and good.

Many thanks-will go with Medicpsot this time then-thanks for the quick feedback.

Just returned from ES late last night, we are using Randox for our 2 & 8 day tests, awaiting delivery of test kits on the morrow!

A fellow forumite at Sant Carles said their 5 day test to release (TTR) from Randox has not gone well, we are not bothering with a 5 Day TTR so will see how 2 & 8 Day go!

Myself and SWMBO had separate 0300.... calls this morning (Day-1) to check up on us, no visits as yet....!

I used a company called Attruchecks for my Day 2&8 testing back in early June. Ordered a week in advance but they never even got delivered. Eventually got my money back via AMEX and thankfully the good old NHS were understanding sent me test kits for Day 2 & 8 for free!! During my 10 days I had 2 calls per day (not sure why) and a personal visit on Day 2. The data protection spiel gets a bit tiresome by about day 4…..

I got back from France at the end of last week, bought my 2 and 8 day tests from 'Testingforall' at £120., they arrived on time. I've had one NHS call every day thus far lasting about 3 mins, 90% of the call is reading a script on data protection etc. No visits as yet, however as I returned on Thursday and ordered my kits then, they arrived Saturday, there's no postal collection here until Monday so they will only have received the test sample today

Randox arranged delivery of our D2+D8 test kits when ordered whilst we were still in Spain! However they did email a DPD tracking number, so I rescheduled and they duly arrived and D2 tests were taken earlier today. Only trouble is, our drop off point is only open between 10-2pm in MK, so they will need to be dropped-off tomorrow morning.

I have had two calls so far, SWMBO one, no Gestapo at the door as yet  I could just about understand the chap that called me today, very poor English, kept calling me Mr Edward, corrected him several times and received an apology. I wonder if the recordings are ever checked by anyone, still, keeps him in work I suppose...!

We are in MK too but have instead been dropping the Randox tests at the drop box at m1 northbound Northampton roadchef. Only 20 mins away and last pick up is 5pm each day.
