If I have to use paper, I use the one pencil left in the rack that isn't broken, or doesn't break again immediately I sharpen it. Haven't got a clue what hardness it is.Right click - properties?

Thanks all for the helpful replies. I'll give it a go, probably 0.7mm with 2B leads, make still to decide on.
Best regards,
Chris
Much better idea than the 60" inkjet plotters we used for cartographic workI think that's a good choice. Definitely avoid 0.3mm, unless you're sitting at a desk that doesn't move.

£18 for a pencil!I've got several of these, and have ended up buying a bunch for the kids and friends because it's better than having them nicked. They are that nice to use...

edit, wrong one.
Coe-Metcalf, Everards, Stevie-Clark?In my time on a dirty British coaster we always used those yachtsmans charts, they were blue if I recall with the courses already marked in red, other than that a biro for filling in the log
First was the “Vectis Isle” with owner skipper Bob Roberts then a small company called Carisbrook Shipping but they now have much larger ships from what I have gleaned fro Internet, the coasters I was on were old Dutch coastersCoe-Metcalf, Everards, Stevie-Clark?
