MDL - Well done

Always found the Torquay "dockies" top blokes. Always time for a chat..

Totally agree with that comment Andy. Top blokes indeed.

Just on a bit of a downer with MDL at the moment, they want to charge us £1200 per annum for upgrading our boat to something 800mm longer!

we were offered breakfast on Saturday but wanted to get on our way so didn't take up the offer... but missed the drinks altogether! darn it!!

Couple of weeks ago returning to our berth at Mercury & it was a little windy and Scott spotted us heading down the fairway and shot down from the office specifically to take our lines, tbh rather than breakfast or anything else that is the sort of service that I remember.

100 percent agree with your comments, we all have days when a bit of help would be great, when it just arrives like magic it is lovely

I had one case at mecury that was memorable for all the wrong reasons! Boat I wasn't comfortable with, wife with a broken elbow caused by me, stonking tide and strong wind. As if by magic 4 dockies were on our berth to help us in. Made a worrying situation slightly easier for which I was very grateful.

I always try to help people or at least offer with lines in marina. It's common courtesy. Small things make a big difference!

may be they feel guilty because of the silly HIGH price they charge to keep your boat there.

Kin ell if i play it right i can have breky at mercury and lunch at ov and maybe a glasss of wine when i return in the evening could be a cheap weekend for us four on board roll on the weekend

MDL Torquay were giving out glasses of wine when we arrived on Saturday. At Brixham it was cider, cheese, bread and pickled onions.
I was there Saturday, the grandchildren got a free mint sweet from the bowl in the office, but I didn't see any sign of wine either when we left for a trip up the Dart (late morning) or returned around 17:30

A word for MDL Sant Carles

We rarely get the drinks but the service, support and cleanliness is exceptional. Most of us spend long periods away from our boats and it's good to know that security is tight, ropes checked etc. Plus, of course, language support for all those local issues!

Not a wind up. We've been with MDL 6 years and it's the first time we've been handed drinks, but could get very accustomed to it.

Generally we get given ice creams when fuelling, but never the hostess trolley treatment as we are fastening our ropes at the mooring

Let's hope it's a sign of more to come.

Let's hope not, so it was you, I was waiting to refuel and wondered why you were taking so long, I wish people wouldn't hang around on the fuel berth while other boats are waiting. Last time it was a yacht having a clear out.

Yep..... As soon as we saw it was you, I poured another glass and started cooking dinner!! Even asked for an overnight stop ;)

Hi all,

This is just the sort of thing our service award is designed for. If any of you would like to formally nominate MDL then please send an email explaining why (just copy and paste your forum post if you wish) to mby@timeinc.com

Cheers,

Jack

Happens all the time at Ocean Village, very high level of service and nice people with it.

Just had our renewal 'invitation'. Up another 4% on last year and payment required by 15th of January. I'd rather ditch the treats, which we always seem to miss, and keep the costs down.
