Visited "Horse" a couple of weekends ago and had super weekend with them on their new boat.

Spent some time talking to staff at Shamrock Quay as several were unchanged from when we had our boat there.
The SQ boat owners (club) were running a combined Sail and Power cruise to Poole. What a super idea.
They, supported by MDL, also had a weekend last year, possibly longer, where Saily types could go out with Mobos and vice versa. Brilliant.

SQ usually have an annual BBQ for bertholders with proceeds to RNLI. Fantastic.

Isn't it ridiculous that there should be any aggro' between Sail and Power? It's people not means of transport.

Well done SQ/ MDL. Keep it up.

As a member of Chichester Yacht Club we have an annual outing with motors and yachts together to Bucklers Hard. Over 50 boats attended last year. Big BBQ and lots of drink. Super!!

Totally agree , and experience on both types of boat is the first and most important step in reaching understanding.

Re: Applaude your sentiments But!

While we do generalise on here and draw up in our tribes the agro is about people too.

The problem is if your an ignorant pillock you are likely to upset folks.

Thing is if you've got a powerboat you can cover more ground and upset more people.

There are sailing ignorant pillocks too. They just remain undiscovered for longer.

Why will no one tell me why so many power boats go around in circles so much? Is it Masonic?

Killing time waiting for their saily boat friends to catch up, perhaps?....../forums/images/icons/wink.gif

um, quite good fun actually, and a raggie herebaouts says he felt "quite millionairish". or of course, they might be holding station to avoid getting too close to a large ship on the swashway frexample tho this is v unlikely and i have only done it once.

Quick MDL plug if I may.....

Called Port Hamble on Saturday morning to book a couple of berths for that evening and was informed that at that stage they were looking pretty full. Fair enough. Steve (always helpful Mr MDL) suggested that Mercury may have spaces and said that he would call Mercury, book them and then call me back. Makes a change from saying we're full and try somewhere else....

This was done within three minutes and I think demonstrates good customer service. Not a huge point but sort of shows that they care....

Plug over

Nick
