Jus twent out at lunchtime and thought I would give MBY a last chance as I have said for ages I wouldnt buy it.

I am glad I did, it was worth buying. Usually I just flick through it during a lunch break and I am never that bothered to give it much of a second yet third glance.

BUT this issue, I over shot my lunch break by 15mins and I will probably read it from page to page.

Well done Tom and crew if it carries on like this I might subscribe.

Nicks came in the post this morning but put it to one side for him when he gets home (he likes to read it first).

Better go and make myself a cuppa and sit down for a flick through if its that good.

You make me out to be the Purveyor of Doom and Gloom.

I just tell it how I see it. I do not have a great interest in Super yachts and items I am very unlikely to afford in the near future however, boats that are sub forty foot and articles about places I can actually visit, gadgets and gizmos and the odd bit about racing is great.

The news section was interesting with lots of different articles and the whole thing was really put together this month.

Just a quick note, how come you havent featured the new Jeanneau 34 Open released at this years Paris boat show.

No, not making you out to be a doom-monger...it's just that in publishing, most readers only ever comment when they hate something. To recieve praise is rare, but appreciated.

We'll be getting to the Jeanneau just a soon as we can...we haven't broken a French boat for at least five weeks, so it must be time to try another one ;o)

I was feeling exactly the same but will give MBY another 3 month trial under Toms guidance. Not that Alan was a bad Ed but maybe Tom knows what might sell or make the magazine more popular.

there must be very few people buying Super yachts compared with 35-50 footers so to sell more magazines isnt it better to aim at the majority rather than the minority especially when the mag is at a fixed price.

Now that's where we are different, DIY interiors are exactly my thing, even if they are a rework of a Boat Mart article 18 months ago!.
I suspect a lot of us are faced with part or ful refurbihment of boats that are 10-20years old.

Boat Mart thats's two 4 letter words isn't it!!!!!!!! Sorry Kim

The problem is that we raggies have three disitinct magazines:
PBO: the Blue Peter version. Here you can learn how to built your own radar out of paper-mache and empty milk bottles.
YM: a read for the sensible yachtie
YW: Sailors claim they read it for the articles, but everybody knows that it's all about the pictures. "What to buy when you win the Lotto/embezzel the firm/rob the bank"

You guys have just the one, which will leave some people wanting.

If he's anything like the old bike mag days it should be interesting. As the ethos behind the test of said products went something like. Right got the new super dooper model from Itchyscratchyfanny motors, Blast the thing around for a couple of days to see if we can kill it. If not then the engines pretty bomb proof. Now take it to a track or some twisty roads and see if we can wear out the knee sliders on our leathers. If you get through to yer knee cap, it must handle ok. Apart from the time some sadistic saddo put Garfield on there instead of a knee slider! Upset my mates sister for weeks, good use of them sodding cats though! And finally, If we crash it, what the hell......oooh look at the sparks flying about!

Yep miss the days of tests like that. So when you going to test a volvo lump for bombproofness bike mag style.

Spot on analysis.

I keep buying PBO to fill the gap in the month when I have finished MBM and MBY but don't really get anything useful from it as a stinkie.
