Help, please - I'm fitting a target Wind direction indicator at the top of the mast (I've already fitted the display screen in the boat) and following the instructions it says "feed the cable down the mast...........don't cut the plug off".
Am I supposed to drill a hole in the mast to take the 10/12mm plug which is attached to a 3/5mm cable ? or can I safely cut off the plug and re-attach it so as to plug it into a deck socket ?

I spoke to NASA on this very same topic and they said to cut the cable and join in a dry place using a joining block

Use a connecting block incase you need to take the mast down it works OK! Oh my wind speed cup blow off mu Nasa Target wind unit. this winter. So make sure its secure!
