does anyone have the web address for a mast ladder made by George Deffee (I've done a search), written up with praise in I think april 2002, Yachting Monthly?

Has anyone tried out this ladder for real?

Thanks

No URL, but...

Don't think there's any website, but the phone number in the article was 01352 780719.

For what it's worth, I have a "Get Up" webbing ladder from Hurst Marine (01245 258420) which was also reviewed. Only real drawback is that the webbing straps hurt your feet unless you're wearing stout shoes. As I have in-mast furling, I got Hurst Marine to sew a luff tape on the ladder so I can hoist it in the other slot in the mast.

Not sure if this would be any use, but have you thought of using cavers 'electron' ladder, very lightweight and very compact.

Re: Yes but no indexing

The site does exist and last week I told Mr Deffee's that his site needs some search engine registrations. Perhaps a marine web site operator around here can link to him and start the process automatically.

Since the magazine reviews he has changed to plastic steps and is currently awaiting the next batch of these. You need to know exactly what size sliders are used on your main sail.

I've put a link up to the site - hopefully it will get indexed by Google in the next month or so. Looks like an excellent product, but I too would be interested to hear of peoples' actual experiences with it.
