Hi folks, any opinions on the Sunseeker Martinique 38.. This one I believ was built
and in the 1993 boat show but commissioned in 94' 2 x KAD42's 130hp.

Most specifically how do the sunseeker experts rate the hull / sea keeping on this model? Thanks

I love it. Been out in some fairly rough stuff too (i.e) Raz de Seine Had the front hatch completely submerged diving into some of the wave troughs.
If you have any specific Q's, please ask.
BTW KAD42's are 230hp not 130. They should give you about 34Knts.

Hi Col yup spotted me typing error re the HP. This boat was just bought round from the Ballearics via Denia, took just three days about 5-600nm.

The guy reported it handled very well, as very deep V. Have you found the engines reliable?

The boat is called "Cruella" and its on my friends brokerage. Hes got it moored next to our Gobbi.

Hi

I just upgraded this year to a M38 from a Portofino 31.
Love the boat. Not had much experience in heavy weather but have found both boats handled it very well. From a hull perspective they are among the best.
The Martinique is better than the Portofino but that is more to do with hull lenth & weight I think.

Send me a PM if you have any questions.

Rob

PM not working so here is the reply

Never had them RPM tested, but I have done a comparison with different props V speed as recorded by GPS. By far the best set up on mine were C5's giving best overall speed and fuel consumption. The worst were B6's
My boat is fairly heavily laden with dingy & outboard, usually full & fuel water tanks, plus all the other "stuff" you seem to gather. Not to mention at least 3 of us on board.
Put it this way......
I had to raise the antifoul line by 2" when compared to the last owner who used it empty!!
I love the boat and use it 300hours per year ave.

I can't do the "pokey tongue out" smiley!!
After all, I am the forums resident prop expert!
Everyone fine here.

While I think about it........(Regarding the Poole Xmas meet) We may drive from the boat to Poole if weather not good. In any case. usual cabin available should you require it, whether we take the boat or drive down.

Thanks Col, we hadn't given it too much thought as have been very busy. However it would be great to see you guys again.

I have just spoken to Theresa and she says it would be ok as she is not on call that weekend and I am home, so I guess we could take you up on your kind offer again.

I will give you a call next week.
