Mark Proudfoot aka Magnum RIP

Re: Magnum RIP

Sad news, like others here I never met him but after years of reading his posts I felt like I knew him.
He came across as a great guy and I will miss his presence here.
Best wishes to his family.

Re: Magnum RIP

Such a shock to read this very sad news......I loved reading his boating blog, and he'll be sadly missed on this forum.

My condolences to his wife, children and family....and remember all the wonderful and happy times you had together.

Re: Magnum RIP

This is very sad news: sincere condolences to his family at this difficult time.
I didn't realise until today that he was the founder of "Overclockers UK".

Re: Magnum RIP

Very sad to read this post, I never met Mark but was lucky enough to drool over one of his boats in the flesh when I worked in Antibes.
A great loss to his family and friends and a great loss to the forum .
Sincere condolences to his closest family .

Re: Magnum RIP

I never personally met or conversed with Mark other than on the forum, but he was always polite and congenial in his posts. Truly sad news, and all the more reason why we do spend our money on boats, as we sure ain't taking it with us as we all cross the Bar for the last time.

Fair winds Mark and my sincere condolences to your family.

Re: Magnum RIP

Very sad news... This unfortunate event shows what a big family it is here, in good days and bad ones.

Condolences to his wife, baby and the sons...

Re: Magnum RIP

Very sad news indeed, a reminder to us all of how fragile life is.
I never met Mark despite spending a lot of time in Jersey, however like so many others really appreciated his shared love of boating on this forum and interesting and informative input. My thoughts are with his family.

Re: Magnum RIP

What a shock! I don’t know Magnum personally but as a raggie, I enjoyed his threads on the building and sailing of his Bordeaux 60 and was somewhat shocked when he announced he’d sold her and was about to take delivery of his new Mobo. He seemed to have a great personality and to pass on at such an early age must be dreadful for his family. Deepest sympathies to them all.

Re: Magnum RIP

Very sad indeed. I enjoyed his posts over the years which were those of a true boat enthusiastic. Also his blog about the trip to the Med with his new P68 was a great read. My condolences to his family.
