Been told to day that the Mariner 10 hp can easily be up graded to the 15 hp model . Any of you engineers out there aware of this?? If so hows it done ? Sounds too good to be true !!

Cheers

Terry

As far as know there is a restricter plate between the carb and the inlet manifold
which restricts power. This plate is either removed or enlarger to allow maxium air flow.

As suggested above there are several O/B engines that can be upgraded with a carb mod. I considered doing this with a Mariner 4 but you need to find a friendly engineer for advice. As you can imagine the dealers and manufacturers are not too forthcoming with information. There are not many things where you can charge considerably more if you leave something out!

Yes,by by a simple fitting of a 'rich' needle to the damper in the carb you can increase the revs of the engine. But this will lead to over revving possibly a new prop to stop this and on and on.Best left as designed.
