Currently my AIS transponder (Ocean Signal ATB1) successfully connects to display targets on my android tablet running Marine Navigator. However MN does not appear to offer basic CPA and TCPA alarm functionality and I'm finding it virtually impossible to use in terms of setting up the parameters that it does offer and then being able to dismiss an alarm that appears within the set ranges. Or maybe its just basic operator error.

Can anyone suggest an alternative app which does provide basic AIS alarm functions? In an absolutely ideal scenario I'd be looking to combine AIS target display, VMH raster charts and Antares charts in one nav app.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Can't help you with an alternative but I use the same setup as you and find the MN AIS function works well enough. For backup reasons I run with two android tablets both with the same MN app, raster charts and AIS. However , I set different AIS range alarms on each tablet and will select whether i get an audible alarm from both, one or neither depending on the sea area I am in (crossing a shipping lane versus in a river, for example)

Many thanks. If you were able to give any idea of the settings you use for the shipping lanes scenario that would be really interesting and helpful.

Perhaps running two devices on the go, both displaying targets but one with alarms and one without could be something of a workaround.
