facilities in bilbao are a bit limited. the marina there is expensive. there may be a small hard standing area but am not sure if this isnt for repairs etc. instead, we used the real club maritimo at las arenas. the HM there alvarro speaks english and looked after our boat reasonably well over winter. cost was better than the marina as were facilities, but you have to put up with the fairly relaxed spanish approach to such things as mast painting in the berth next door whilst mast still erected and using a spraygun!

we looked at santander where the hard is quite large and seperate from the marina. security looked doubtful, costs were higher, and i was not given confidence that the staff would look after the boat. bit nervous of on shore storage since they need pad eyes on the hard for when the winter gales come in. and santander marina is well out of town

have you thought of zumaya?

pm me if you want more info

Hendaye, just over the French/ Sp has goodreviews for winter storage. Very close to Biarritz airport with cheap UK flights by Ryanair.

Would definitely give Bilbao and Santander a miss. Higher up is good, particularly Vivero - new marina, good security, v. sheltered, cheap last year.
