Marina Berth in Solent

Does anyone have a berth in the area of Portsmouth to Southampton and are going away for the summer. I have a 35 foot sailing boat with a 6 foot draft which I am bringing to the area from 1 June until 30 Sept, so any availability for that time would be valuable.

Berths will now be a bit harder to find in Portsmouth as the new Royal Clarence marina is closing next week.

The story is that the builders who have the Royal Clarence Yard site are concerned about the health & safety aspect of building right next to the marina and having marina users crossing a building site.

This has not been a problem to Berkley Homes thus far, and indeed when I took a berth at Royal Clarence Marina I was told that there would only be a problem with access in April, but after that all would be OK.

I and a number of others now find ourselves looking for berths at the worst possible time (just after all the new annual contacts have been sold).

I would also like to say that since I made the original post, the people at Haslar, Gosport Marina (Campers), and Jane Moody (Moody's Bursledon Marina) have all been very positive in trying to help.

Did not realise thats where you had a berth, only new about it myself as my mate is berthed there and was telling me about it, have you got somethihg sorted out.

No. Still looking. Haslar may be possible with lots of rafting in the Visitor's area for a while.

As we usually have some disabled sailors with us, we need to have a walk-on berth, and they seem like hen's teeth at the moment.

I believe Shamrock Quay have a few berths and I know that Ocean Village has a few - mine is being vacated in early June because I am moving to Gosport. A bit away from Pompey though.
