I need to replace a Forespar marelon seacock (I broke off the handle - doh!). Can anyone please confirm whether the Seaflow ones as sold by ASAP are in fact the same as/made by Forespar? TIA!
Hi. Thanks for the replies!
The handle was seized, and simply (and quite easily) broke off in my hand. The boat had been ashore some time, and the seacock hadn't been operated in I don't know how long... If you search the forums, you will see other mentions of broken handles, unfortunately. That said, I'm happy to stick with Marelon as the alternatives also have their own disadvantages (such is life!).
Aquafax are now distributors for Forespar, but Nauquip may also be - I haven't used them before but I will check them out.
Seaflow do now seem to be using the 'e' - see http://www.asap-supplies.com/search/marelon/marelon-seacock-valve-with-through-hull-402805 .
Roberto thank you for your comments about the different threads. As my boat used to be in the Caribbean, I'd better check my existing seacocks carefully. As you say, it seems prudent to keep everything the same.
Thanks again!
and they seem to carry the forespar name http://www.asap-supplies.com/marine/non-metallic-valves/marelon-valve-female-each-end-405823
I have some spare handles for "93" series valves supplied to me by Forespar in the States. PM me the handle size if you want one.
