On the very old forum that has long ago been consigned to history ... I posted a 'poll' asking people to give Fuel Consumption for their boats. It worked very well and I had a lot of response - which I passed back on the forum for others to use.
It has various uses - it gives an idea of suitable HP unit for a boat ... likely fuel consumption to allow for in use .... speeds expected .... and whether the owner thinks it over or underpowered.

So maybe we can do it again ? There is no need to include any personal info at all. You can send to me by PM / email or post as a reply here.

I will attach the old listing once I transpose all data to a new fiie ...

Info :
1. Boat model
2. LOA
3. Displacement in actual use (guess if not known ... good region is 1.25x spec'd weight)
4. Engine make and model
5. Single or twin engine boat
6. HP each engine
7. Size of fuel tank (litres)
8. Consumption at cruise setting per hour average in litres
9. Cruise speed
10 RPM if known
11. Spare fuel carried if any.
12. Remarks such as engine under or overpowered etc. Max consumption ? any info that felt relevant.

As example for my boat :

1. Sunrider 25
2. 25ft
3. 4 ton
4. Perkins 4-107
5. Single
6. 43 HP
7. 70 litres
8. 2.5 litres/hr
9. 5kts
10 n/a
11. zero ... but on long trips ~30lts
12. Motor sailer capable up to 9kts on engine but consumption then ~5l/hr

OK Here's mine:
Jeanneau 45.2 LOA45 feet, light displacement 9.8 metric tons, probably closer to 11 tons with everything on board. Engine Yanmar 4JH2 DTE 87HP, Fuel 205 litres, 4 litres/Hour 7 Knots at 2500 rpm. Can exceed 9 knots if pushed. Definitely over engined as normal engine was 62 HP Yanmar. Was originally under propped with a 20 inch fixed 3 blade, but replacment with a 21 inch Max Prop with the pitch set greater than the original was a big improvement. I carry two 12 litre jerrycans of spare fuel.

1. Boat model-- Hanse 312--2003 year version
2. LOA 9.45 m
3. Displacement in actual use (guess if not known ... good region is 1.25x spec'd weight) approx 4.5T
4. Engine make and model Volvo MD 2020
5. Single or twin engine boat single
6. HP each engine 20
7. Size of fuel tank (litres) 45L
8. Consumption at cruise setting per hour average in litres 2.1 L
9. Cruise speed 6Kts
10 RPM if known 2100 RPM
11. Spare fuel carried if any. 54L when cruising
12. Remarks such as engine under or overpowered etc. Max consumption ? any info that felt relevant . OK but limited by prop in chop

I know that you cannot do everything, but Prop type would have been a nice addition

I thought about any other items as well ... but in the end kept it to same as before ... it is only a guide in the end as to what boats have ...

If someone else wants to take on this - I can provide the excel sheet ..... (don't all rush me at once !!)
