jfm - thanks to you too..
Sorry, should have said similar price - see my reply to EyeNo above.
With regard to the design: we wandered from one to the other and as I said earlier, we could honestly live with either.
Seems that stern to docking is something that can be sorted. Docking aids will make all the difference to me and practice will make perfect /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
I tend to believe that the D12s are the way to go, to be honest, this is based on my experience with D6.
Thanks
Stuart.

Mike - thanks for the reply...
We seem to be on the same wavelength. See my reply above - " we could live with both". I have also seen some tatty Sunseekers however, I put this down to neglect as I have also seen some 10+ year old which looked nice.
Your point about IPS is fully in line with my thoughts, I guess I should wait another year or so.
For 2006 boat we will have to order in two months Sunseeker or 6 - 8 months Sealine.
For 2007 - add 12 months to above, the debate regarding shafts vs IPS should be in full swing by then.
Regards,
Stuart.

Hi Roy,
I can indeed be patient. Wonder how much for used Man 50?
I tend to agree with Mike above - a Man50 with IPS would suit us quiet nicely /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif .We are used to stern drives so transition should be easier (in theory).

The Manhattan isn't available with D9 s so the price you were quoted must have been with D12 s or C12 s there is no other option.

Hi EyeNo,
Three replies in one...
Salesman said D9 however paperwork says Cat /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Price would suggest 810hp Cat or D12s.
Used man50 - was offered 2004 model 30k stg£ below list.
T60 price - on reflection, I should keep this info although probably too late now. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif.

I'm pretty open-minded but having looked at the T60 in some detail at LIBS I thoug it was awful. If you really have narrowed it down to those 2 then the Sunseeker wins hands down in just about every area, especially internal layout, quality of mateial and finish, but there are others well worth considering. Have you looked at the Princess P57?

For what is is worth Jano4 price for M50 for July04 delv was £459 ex vat.

This was before any negs. After adding 'sensible' options - a/c, gen upgrade, paz, navnet at both helms, thruster etc. I was lead to believe the all up cost would be just under £500K with Vat paid delv S.Coast.

You will be able to see how this looks on todays quotes - like for like but one year on.......

Big surprise!

I also like the Sunseeker 50, but don't like the big side supports to the transom. Many people with this type and size of boat would want a largish tender or jet rib on the back, but then you can't get past it to step off the boat or use the ladder. Ok for med with a passarelle over the tender, but possibly a pain in UK?

Well I admit I didnt look in the engine bay but I'm v surprised because there doesnt seem to be room for a straight shaftdrive system and Sunseeker have used V-drives on this size of flybridge boat for years
We're not mixing terminology here are we? By V-drive I mean the engine is turned arse about face, the drive shaft goes forward to the gearbox and the prop shaft goes back under the engine to exit the hull
Please fill in your profile. Its considered a bit rude not to

As luck would have it....a T60 appeared in our Marina over the w/e.

So, went and looked again (only exterior), I confess I was less than taken by the inside layout and quality at the boat show.

However, sitting in the marina she is a very good looking boat - lots of 'presence'.

Nice teak deck and bulwalks etc, like the skylights over the main helm - not sure about the slant to the main cabin ports but very interesting to see the boat in a more normal environment than at a show. Certainly not as 'toppy' as the M50
