If it was being given away.....
If I had somewhere covered to work on it......
If I had the skills to do it well......

And even then it would be unlikely to match the appearance and price of the original.

But it would make an interesting conversion back to being a fishing or workboat where function outweighs appearance and fancy fittings (assuming it's the long keel not fin and skeg model).

Could be the first reverse MFV conversion?

Yes its the original long keel version .....

And yes - conversion to MOBO was considered ... according to the logs of the trip across Baltic - she made up to 14kts for a majority of the trip.

It was not meant as an insult. Just a general observation, for those who may wish to use one ;thinking it is just a case of plonking it on a surface . But I have seem some arrive with Protimeters etc & still have no idea of the calibration for different substrates etc.
(I am a chartered surveyor, for what that is worth)

OK ... it was read as written and as we all know - we cannot know what is in mind of writer.

I actually got fed up with some UK based 'Surveyors' who just bought Sovereigns because XXXX said it was THE tool to have ... not understanding its serious limitations. Many did not take time to learn how to use it.
Also that for more than 30yrs I have been checking decks as well hulls - which is specifically why I have the two different meters. Sadly the Protimeter I have is no longer sold - they long ago stopped producing it and concentrated on the 'Builders' Meters.

The only reason to buy that boat was if you were doing it for a reason other than to sail or to make / save money. It will take ages, cost a lot more than expected and whilst you may end up with a boat that is perfect for you will be a very painful way of getting there.

If it must be a N33 that you refurb then buy a sound one that juts needs things like new instruments, soft furnishings, sails and maybe a run round with a varnish brush rather than a full on rebuild.

Are you sure it,s even a Nauticat - At a glance, unless it,s the way the picture has been taken, there,s something mighty strange about the pilothouse front windows and the stern ports are all wrong too. Also, the first Nauticat 33 I,ve seen with five ports in the coachroof, normally four each side, and three on the newer models. I reckon it,s a mongrel !

She is most definitely an early N33 .... where the hull was GRP - but cabin and deck was wood ...

The Nauticats went through various alterations as 33's even before the later 331 came out ...

As in one of your previous posts - walk away. But buy the Jeanneau Rush and enjoy life.

Always liked Jeanneau - IF I have to have a more modern boat.

I'm presently looking at a Forgus 31 ..... similar ... but better open plan cabin that is without bulkhead to the aft bunks under cockpit.

Not boat I'm looking at - but same condition etc. (but not same price !)

Here you see the advantage of the open plan ....

Not to everyones liking of course ... but that's life ! I don't like Bavaria's ... others do ...

I saw that with a Nauticat motor sailer in NI. Bought using an old survey (why save such a small amount of money?) and the deck was gone as was the engine. New owner spent years living on board on the hard but never had it in the water. It was then sold on and when I left had still not been lifted in, but I see from Streetview that it is no longer there.

I thought Nauticats were supposed to be well built?

They are well built ... its the idiots who are called 'owners' who don't look after ...

What use is that? None, totally inaccessible in a prompt manner and quite unacceptable. It's not always sunny and dry when I tie up, having to drip water everywhere in the cabin to do such a mundane activity is ridiculous.
