The most recent report says 8 motor yachts in the 20 - 30m range were affected and 6 have reportedly sunk.

Latest reports say 7 motor yachts sunk and an 8th badly damaged. All between 20 - 30m. Fire started on a Cook Is registered yacht Sisu.

Scary - so easy to get out of control with Mediterranean style mooring, i.e. yachts all crammed together. Four years ago this happened in my marina, and four yachts were lost as the fire spread, including a beautiful 99 year old classic, "Halycon", that had just undergone a refit costing nearly £1m. As for the marina's fire-fighting capability - "lessons were learned". In the pic you can make out my mast sticking out from the smoke. Fortunately for me, the wind was blowing the other way, but there was still a serious amount of mess.
