Macerator pump

Ours is dead , it’s a QL 1000 12 volt distri by VP so will be expensieve, any ideas on cheap replacement.

In my experience with macerator pumps and I've had a few, buy the branded parts. Cheap alternatives particularly from China don't last long. It's a false economy.

I would have thought a standard Jabsco Macerator Pump would work in its place.

As you know mine broke last week and was replaced. I did think I got it rather cheap Anyway having changed one I am now past master and can lend you a few tips on replacing it.
You'll need a PPE kit for starters

Ok you can change it ,the port is already on board.

I said I'd offer tips. I didn't ask if I could watch and offer tips this time. There is unfortunately no clean way of doing it.

last year I had to swap out a diaphragm pump from the black tank. When I refitted I put isolation valves on either side so that changing the pump or any maintenance would be sh*t free. I had to change the joker valves last week and it was a joy compared to last time!

Get the Jabsco one. You may be convinced it wont handle you but the brochure claims it can handle nuts.
