Just back from a short shore based break in Lincolnshire. Not my favourite place at the best of times (East coast that is!) Taken by friends to Mablethorpe and what a dump it is. Why do people with money go to these cr*&p holes?
Skegness is exactly the same, can't understand the attraction at all.

Nice one - Cos peaple with tattoes who claim some form of benefit ( that the honest taxpayer stumps up) , like rows of damp static caravans, to stay in.parked so tight so heilcopter niose will not be a problem.Reliant Robins litter the place - pref mode of transport
During the day the day the main attraction is either the amusement arcades where these " rich " really spend £ er thats 1 all day, or the "haute couture "on display in the charity shops intermingled with the greasy spoon cafes.
Of course the nightlife , on the street drug dealers and migrant workers battle with the police, while the" rich" luxate in a game of bingo.

you've obviously been there then

I was just up the road in Cleethorpes the other day and marvelled at how some of the people could walk and talk at the same time. Anyway, I can't envisage Fairline or Sunseeker opening a regional office on the Lincs coast anytime soon.:o:D:D

I was going to say thats not particularly fair, but the more i think about it, maybe your right. But, not all the east yorks and lincolnshire coast is the same.
There are some lovely little places when you get out of the towns. And you dont need to go far out either.

I occasionaly jump on the bike and have a ride to cleethorpes on an evening, just for a handfull of greasy chips and a look at the office....

You should have travelled North and enjoyed the Edwardian ambience of Hornsea and Withernsea or the 20th Century bustle of Bridlington.

In my youth we used to drive over to Cleethorpes on a Sunday for a day out :)

I remember taking the stitches out of a mate's face after a night out in Skeggy. He couldn't be bothered to go back to the hospital so I said I'd pull them out for him.

Happy days.

Bizzarely when we visited Tignmouth the other year their amusement arcade on the front had all the same games in from when I used to go there.

Henry :)

And the cockle and mussel stalls at scarbrough are nowt like they used to be... Lad,,, eee by eck :)

(actually there a bloody rip off now)
I do like the harbour bar though.... Got to be done for a knickerbockerglory :) its tradition

I live in Mablethorpe and have done for 3 years. Granted the high Street needs a good lock of paint but our beach is one of if not the best in the UK.

If you don't like it STAY AWAY and if possible take all the inbred scumbags daytrippers with you, but saying that, it is highly entertaining driving down the high street, it is like being at Knowsley Safari Park without the admission charge lol
