Lots of helicopter activity on Southampton Water tonight.

One can always tell a Chinook by the ' Wokka ' sound.

A rather overweight colleague known as ' Seven Bellys ' , a CG volunteer, once boasted he was doing the dunking / rescue demo' bit at the Southampton Boat Show, so when I mentioned ' I didn't know they were stress testing the wires on Chinooks ' he looked rather p'd off; turned out I was about the 50th to make the same comment.

Chinooks flying low over the City today with the cargo door partly open. Also heard more of the Pumas this evening.

I wonder what they are expecting ?

I'm in Marchwood where the SMC barracks is. Whilst I don't know about helicopters during the day, for the past 3 / 4 nights there has been near constant activity into the early hours which I'm pretty sure is coming from the barracks. No idea what or why.
