I am considering fitting a heat sensor + audible alarm to the exhaust on my MD1B.
At present I have a tell tale in the cockpit running off the siphon break. When motoring it is almost subconsious that I keep glancing at the tell tale to see that it is still running. It is possible also to detect a change in the tone of the exhaust if there is no water going through it
This year as I was leaving Weymouth I was alert enough to see steam instead of water coming out of the telltale. I stopped the engine and was able to replace the impeller the original of which was missing one and a bit arms.
In spite of the above I am trying to fins a wiring diagram to buy the bits and install an audible alarm.
I have heard that by the time the heat sensor picks up the rise in temperature it is already too late to stop the damage.
Any information on the wiring diagram and the usefullness or uselessness of fitting an alarm would be appreciated.
