As per the title...

We were at Tide Mill over the weekend and I recalled that a while ago someone captured a photo of a yacht attempting to leave Woodbridge on a falling tide and getting stuck on the cill.

My "Google Fu" has failed me this time - can anyone point me to a copy of it somewhere?

I have a copy of the photo. What was the legal reason for withdrawal? The only one I can think of is infringement of the photographer's copyright. Other than that, unless it has been photoshopped, it's simply a depiction of what happened.

I don’ know if it was a legal thing exactly but maybe the Dutch owner objected, possibly because of the reason he got in the situation in the first place? Probably all hearsay though.

I've a feeling that the picture may have been mine. I certainly have a picture of a Dutch yacht stranded on the Tide Mill cill, keel outside, skeg inside. Problem is it's somewhere on one of my hard drives and I won't be home for a few weeks.

Gosh, I recognise that photo.. Either there was someone else about with a camera, or I've shot to fame at last! :cool:p
As you can see, an Ovni, a strong aluminium boat and no harm done as I recall, just a few hours of discomfort.

Looking at the photo there is an unusual "skeg" between the rudder and prop. I have never seen one like that before!

It looks like an aluminium boat, but it is definitely not an Ovni, although it does have an Ovni-like arch. It has no chines and Ovnis are not painted

Sorry for posting your photo! Dan Tribe claimed it above so I thought I was posting with the photographer's permission. Highly likely that several people snapped the scene however - not that we're all ghoulish but it is an interesting image...

No worries. I think I posted it on here myself a long time ago.
And Westhinder you are of course right, it's not an Ovni!
