Considering a windlass. Want a small one that'll cope with 3/8ths chain but has to fit on a cluttered foredeck.
I'm thinking that a Capstan style one with drum over the gypsy would be most useful, if for nothing else that the footprint on the deck would be small and the drum could wind warp from any direction over the deck. I'd prefer manual, but getting lazy so might want a motorised one, or at least one with a manual back up, if such exists. Seen a lot of makes and specs but cannot pick one.
Do we have any favorites out there?
