Latest is a complex low still dominating the weather. This probably bringing a SE F3-F4 on Tuesday. Heavier rain then moves in overnight and this lasting through Wednesday. Probably becoming variable F3 or F4 with mod or poor visibility.
Bear in mind Boatman that the confidence on this is low. The models are hinting at low pressure dominating but I am not particularly confident in this. You may be best holding off on a firm decision until Tuesday when we should have a better idea.
Sorry for late reply. Not witnessed but from reliable source, 2 - 3 lb but only the odd one here and there.
Went down that way Friday. Anchored opposite Thamesport for a couple of hours, 4 rods and not a nibble. Moved upstream just around the corner and only a couple of bites. Moved again to a tad downstream of Kingsnorth on the opposite bank and finally got into the fish. Mostly whiting and big pouting - took 8 good sized whiting home plus one nice doggie. In the same spot on Thursday, the boat owner and another friend were catching non stop. Fished as well on the ebb as on the flood.
Last year at about this time we fished off number one bouy off Sheppey and were catching big whiting non stop.
my personal forecast based on guesswork, thinking about seaweed, vague hunches and all-around sort of optimism is that it'll be "probably okay". This means s- sw ish about force 4 but with a bit of weakish SE to start with on tuesday, perhaps, and then a bit stronger later, more from the west where it mostly comes from, but you'll be round the corner towards ramsgate by then. The sea will be a greenish grey. The sky with will be a fairly grey with not much sun and it'll be a bit cold, but not flippin freezing. Several large ferries will appear in fromt of you near dover. Nobody will help you with your lines in Ramsgate if you decide to stop off. I forecast that you will get there OK.
