Can anyone recommend somewhere I can leave a car in Oban from tomorrow til Sunday? Preferably within reasonable walking distance of the town marina. Thanks

The long stay is at the big roundabout as you come in from the north end on the A85 About a 5 minute walk to Oban town centre. I can't remember if you have to go into town then double back along the sea front to get to the carpark.

Are you sure that is somewhere you can leave a car for several days? Long stay parking in Oban is a bit of a joke these days, particularly for a ferry port. Or if you are going a boat in Kerrera marina. The Leisure Centre car park used to work, but I think that is now limited. Seem to remember that there is a private long stay near Tescos, and maybe Tesco itself does a paid long stay deal. Sure an Oban local will be along soon to advise. A couple of years ago I was lucky to find an on road spot south of the sailing club, but it is mainly pay and display there now, so time limited.

Yourparkingspace has a few options in Oban including the Tesco carpark. Not particularly cheap at £30-40 for you date range but gives peace of mind at least.

thanks very much for all your replies suggestions. much appreciated. We are boarding a boat in the marina tomorrow afternoon so will have a few hours to find a safe spot. Not sailing off til Thursday morning anyway

In Oban transit marina. Yacht alongside used pay at Tescos. Everywhere very busy because of the weather forecast.

Yes, looking on AIS, lots heading for shelter. We're hunkered down in Lochboisdale - only about 5 cruising boats in here!
