Don't know the Thames bit so cannot advise you there. If tides/weather works out OK I would do Burnham in one trip. Interesting to see the place and plenty of places to eat/drink (would not recomend eating at the marina, but would berth there) Then go to either Brightlingsea (favourite) or Bradwell (Green Man pub, not yacht club to eat/drink). Then if you still have time go down the Walton backwaters. Eat and drink at the Walton & Frinton Yacht Club, one of the best and most welcoming places anywhere. If you want any more information on these places send me a PM.
You do not say what size your boat is, draft, cruising speed. You would also need to say when you were leaving if you wanted any comment on your passage plan.
Hope this helps. Paul

Personally, I would omit Burnham, as it is a long flog in and out of the Crouch, but would make Pyefleet Creek, for a quiet night at anchor, or Brightlingsea if you want a run ashore, then the Orwell, but if you have time, head into Walton Backwaters for a night first.

Do not forget to factor in if time/weather allows the possibility of nipping across to Queenborough for a night after the long drag down lower Thames.
All tide visiters moorings always available.Need to watch your depth when crossing the Swatch, but as a east coasty /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif you will be well aware of what to watch out for.Good quiet alternative is Stangate creek, sheltered and with enough water to float a battleship even at the lowest springs.

Does depend on size of engine - my old 23' couldn't do the whole Thames in one go. The only three half-way marks that I'm familiar with are Greys - which does have a visitors mooring and may have a vacant mooring at the yacht club, though the TYC moorings are not for you if you're opver about 35'. Or there's Erith which has some nice visitors moorings. Or there's Gravesend which abounds in some big moorings but it unbelievably bouncy due to the endless tream of pilot boats.

On a very still night you can anchor off Southend Pier - I'd avoid the Leigh on Sea channels because the fishing fleet will make life very uncomfortable when they go, unles syou're going with them.

Queensborough is a nice stop as someone said. If you do creep acros the flats (or you're really clever and go via Paglesham) then the Roach has some lovely anchorages. Or if you felt v energetic go beyond Burnham to North Fambridge - lovely pub.

In the Blackwater, pyeleet creek is lovely (tho busier at this time of the year). Brightlingsea or Bradwell or Tollesbury are all nice, though you need to check the tide.

Definitely the Walton Backwaters - and also Pin Mill in the Orwell itself.

Enjoy -t's a fab cruise, especially in such lovely weather.
