Having just obtained a new Cetrek log head unit (a lot of Cetrek stuff currently for sale at bargain prices on e-bay) I am in need of a transducer to suit. The information I have is that any providing 25000 revolutions per nautical mile will work OK. However, I have no idea whether this is an industry standard or different for each manufracturers transducers. Anyone have any idea? I just hope it is not the reason for the bargain price!

Not sure if it helps much, but 1NM is 1853 metres, therefore each of your 25000 revolutions must be 74mm - i.e a paddle wheel about 25mm diameter if it has 1 magnet, or about 50mm if it has 2.

Sounds like it's ball-park "normal"?

I've no idea about this instrument, but most have some sort of "calibration" factor that can give >> 50% correction.

Good luck.

Andy
