Has anyone experienced heat being generated within a Lofrans' foot switch during operation?

Heat means that there is resistance on the electrical contacts in the switch. Some can be taken to bits and cleaned otherwise it is purchase a new one. If it gets to hot a fire can start.

No but they are supper simple. Just copper contacts and a spring. If you have heat then you likely have a high resistance contact.
