Last post before my hols....................

An intense smiley boater called Pete
Thought a Glastron was sexy and neat
But the hull it was dented
So a lawyer he rented
Now he’s getting a new one complete

“What Engine”, they said to our mate
“A D3, I think ‘cos they’re great”
Happy started to cough
When they said “P*ss Off”
Now he’s in for an awful long wait

.....and so are you lot, normal service resumed from Monday 15th September /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Well I understand about the D3, but it was worth a try /forums/images/icons/wink.gif I do need some advice though as I have been looking at the 4.3Gxi and the 5.0Gxi with the same SX drive as I have, problem is if I go up to 5.0 I will not be able to get my spare engine in the engine bay as it is a bigger unit HOWEVER I have been told I can have a 4.3Gxi with DP-S (dou prop), but we are talking a few bucks more in fact £2,790 more than the 4.3. I would need to make sure I was going to get that amount of benefit, having never driven a duo prop could anyone tell me in layman terms what I could expect, and whether I would get as much out of moving up to the 4.3GXi SX.

Oh! Martyn, I think you are a poet and just don't know it /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Re: zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

It's Ok yawning a zzzzzzzing, and I'm sorry if you are bored, but I am still looking for someone with experience of these engines to help. Sorry if it's above your heads, but an engine is quite an important part of a boat IMHO /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Re: Re......Engine? Pah.

Aharrrrrrr! that's it, you all know bugger all about petrol engines cos yours are all smokey diesels /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif NOW I understand. I will wait until tomorrow and ask the Thames lot, I'm sure they all use petrol because they can't go far at 8km per hour, should be a great evening all talking about petrol engines /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Re: Re......Engine? Pah.

Sorry Happy, switched to a diesel engined boat this year 'cause I couldn't afford the silly petrol prices!

Doesn't really matter though as I know bugger all about engines whatever fuel they use.

Looking forward to meeting tomorrow.

Re: Re......Engine? Pah.

Same as me, I know bugger all about engines either, perhaps we can just have a few beers then /forums/images/icons/wink.gif I may need to put the question on the intellectual PBO forum /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Re: Re......Engine? Pah.

Er you may struggle, they closed most of the petrol fuelling points on the Thames so we all just cough and splutter in a grey/blue mist these days.

Perhaps you can wear a carnation so we can spot you amongst all the diesel owners?

See you tomorrow.

Mike
