I HAVE SEEN AN ADVERT FOR A LIFE RAFT BY THE NAME OF "SEASTAGE" PRODUCED BY XM/BFA. I'M INTERESTED BECAUSE OF ITS LIGHT WEIGHT.DOES ANYONE OUT THERE KNOW OF THIS.WILL IT BE SUITABLE FOR MY TYPE OF SAILING E.G.POTTERING ABOUT ALONG THE SOUTH COAST HARBOUR TO HARBOUR.A PICTURE WOULD BE NICE!

Do you need a liferaft?

Get a decent weather forecast and a dinghy 1/2 inflated on the foredeck.

What about fire?

Agree with idea of good forecasts etc, but the most likely reason you'll be leaving the yacht is fire. Or if you are really unlucky sinking. At that time a real liferaft is the only thing that will help you. Yes I know neither are that likely but if you sail in the winter as I do the sea temperature is so cold a liferaft is essential.
