Liferaft service

I Know this is an old one but I still have no idea where I can get my life-raft serviced near Cardiff. I understand there is a company in Milford but that seems to be about it. Strange as you would have thought with all the boats in Cardiff there would be a market. The last service this life-raft had was when I bought the boat in Pwllheli. I know there is someone up there doing it. Does anyone have any ideas?

Have you asked at the chandlers in the area, or the marinas? They might have a pick-up/delivery service. Had ours done in Milford two years ago. Good job from what I could see, and reasonable price. Had a chat to the guy doing it as well. Had to wait for a "slot" in their timetable however as lots of commercial rafts were being done and these got priority. So it might not be quick. Don't know about the Bristol outfit. Is that COSALT as well?

I drive between Cardiff and Bristol a couple of times a week. If you need it taking, PM me.

Bristol (Portishead) is also a Cosalt, or at least it was last time we had our liferaft serviced. There are a few of us in work who all bought a liferaft at the same time, so they have the same servicing schedule. So what we do is agree for one of us to take all of them down to Bristol and drop them off, and someone else goes back when they are ready to collect. This approach may be an option for those in a club, and reduces the costs of transport etc.

Many thanks all for your thoughts particularly Allan. I contacted Cosalt in Bristol and it take three weeks so I will wait till the end of the summer now. Perhaps I can take you up on your offer then?
